Kate was born and raised in Benton, Arkansas. After graduating from Benton High School, she attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics and graduated Summa Cum Laude. After college, she attended UALR William H. Bowen School of Law where she obtained her law degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Kate was also the Managing Editor of the UALR Law Review where her article, BANKRUTPCY- Confusion and Ambiguity: The Post-BAPCPA Uncertainty Concerning the Ride-Through Option in the Eighth Circuit, 36 U. Ark. Little Rock L. Rev. 489, was published in 2014.
Upon passing the Arkansas Bar Examination, Kate began her career as an attorney at Hilburn & Harper, Ltd., where she has practiced various aspects of commercial law, including complex civil litigation, real estate law, transactional law, bankruptcy, and secured transactions.
In her free time, Kate enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with her husband, Aaron, and her children, Owen and Emma Kate. Kate is a member of Park Place Baptist Church in Bryant, Arkansas, the Central Arkansas Board of Junior Achievement Arkansas, the Arkansas Bar Association, and the Pulaski County Bar Association.
